Letter from the
President
|
Dear Chamber
members,
Become engaged
with the Oakland
business
community
Build your
business by
networking! Have
you met anyone
new in the past
week? If not and
you're in
business it's
time to meet
your fellow
Oakland business
members!
Not your thing?
It's time to
rethink how to
meet new
customers or a
member who can
refer you to a
friend or family
member.
Retool your
approach...develop
an elevator
speech that is
10 seconds in
length that lets
others know who
you are and what
kind of business
you are seeking!
Plan to attend
any or all of
the following
events, each of
which has a
unique
opportunity to
network and meet
fellow Chamber
members:
East
Bay Women in
Business

Aug. 7

Coming
Soon - Bay

Or attend a
Chamber
committee
meeting and
engage with our
efforts for a
more
business-friendly
city!
Of note, more
and more members
are calling
about the
newly
established
parking meter
increase
and the impact
on their
businesses in
number of
customers.
Customers are
complaining as
well! Send your
comments to
speterson@oaklandchamber.com
or
jharaburda@oaklandchamber.com.
The City Council
is out of
session until
September, but
we will make
your opinions
known at that
time!
You can read
about the most
recent parking
developments in
the recent News
