Oakland
Chamber's 2010 Wish List
Join us
as we work toward these
goals to increase
prosperity in Oakland!
- A renewed
spirit of collaboration
- all Oaklanders know
"we're in this together"
and help each other
through a tough economy.
- Safe
streets, healthy
neighborhoods, vibrant
communities.
-
Increase accessible
financial capital for
businesses and investors
so jobs can be saved and
created.
- All
businesses - small and
large - improve their
bottom lines, thereby
making a dramatic
statement to the
residents of this city
and the rest of the
country that Oakland is
business-friendly and
profitable.
- Have
Oakland land a major
retailer.
- Develop
Jack London Square as a
restaurant/food
attraction, with Jack
London Market filled
with cafes and shops
geared toward cooking,
kitchen items and
demonstrations.
- More
businesses "adopt"
schools to improve
in-class work and bring
students for tours of
offices, teaching young
people how
businesspeople work,
act, dress and conduct
business.
-
Well-resourced
classrooms with trained
teachers for kids of all
ages.
- Support
our local public
officials who continue
to face the tough task
of cutting public
services as the city's
budget revenues shrink.
- Major
League Baseball decides
to keep the A's in
Oakland.
-
Patience, persistence
and working together!
Please
note that the Chamber of
Commerce offices will
close for the holidays
at noon on Thursday,
Dec. 24 and will re-open
on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010.
God Bless America!
