Letter from the President |
Dear members and friends,
The offices of the
Chamber play an
important role of
convening and finding
ways to collaborate with
organizations and
leaders in all sectors
of our city, both
private and government.
This past week Scott
Peterson, the Chamber's
director of public
policy, and I met with
our new Chief of the
Oakland Police Anthony
Batts...to say we were
impressed is an
understatement. Not only
is he mapping a strategy
that will focus the
efforts of the force to
effectively protect our
community, but as well
we agreed to meet
quarterly to keep
current with the
objectives of the
community and OPD! We
will keep our members up
to date on these
sessions!
This past weekend
100,000 kids of all ages
joined the Chamber staff
to celebrate our 10th
America's Children's
Holiday Parade! This
annual event founded by
yours truly did us proud
and soon it will be
televised as a one-hour
show nationally and
worldwide on America's
Forces Network! Great
publicity for Oakland!
Join us and God Bless
America!
