Monument

A partnership was formed between Mario Chiodo and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Joe Haraburda, President of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, immediately recognized the value of such an artwork to the community of Oakland and has been instrumental in making it a reality. By raising funds through the Chamber’s Non-Profit Foundation, the costs of the construction of the Monument will covered by donations and grants. Mario Chiodo will be donating his sculpting time. The park is being developed as part of the public/private partnership between the City of Oakland and Forest City Development/MarFarlene Partners.
