Chamber Economic & Business Development Committees
The Economic Development Department of the Chamber works with community leaders, Chamber members, and other organizations toward policies that help to promote business creation and growth, increase employment, help retain existing businesses and jobs, stimulate overall economic growth, and improve the quality of life in Oakland.
In addition to policy work, the Economic Development Department staffs the following committees designed to provide members with networking and business development opportunities, to educate members on current and future developments, and to assist members in the planning and design stages of their projects.
Economic Development Committee Meets the second Wednesday of every month
from 3-5 p.m. at the Chamber and hosts monthly Economic Forums on topics of
importance to Oaklands economy. Members are invited to participate based on
experience and expertise.
The Transportation Task Force - Is part of the Economic Development Committee umbrella and also works via the International Trade and Logistics cluster group.
The Housing Committee - Is part of the Economic Development Committee umbrella.
East Bay Women in Business Roundtable (EBWIBR)
Small Business Working Group need new content
The Coliseum Commerce Center Advisory Committee - Standing committee hosted by the Oakland Commerce Corporation. Meets from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. the fourth Thursday of every month at the Hilton Oakland Airport, One Hegenberger Road.
Project Review Task Force - An ad hoc task force assembled upon request to review major projects and provide support in front of the City Council and Planning Commission. Members are appointed based on expertise, and meets on request.
Leadership Oakland Advisory Committee - Members are invited to participate and meets throughout the year to review the progress of Leadership Oakland classes.
