OakPAC is a voluntary, non-profit, general purpose corporation which operates as a general purpose political action committee, as defined by the California Fair Political Practices Commission. OakPAC is independent of any political party, candidate, or political organization.
The purpose of OakPAC is:
(a) To promote Commerce and Industry, to advance economic growth, and to enhance the quality of life in the City of Oakland by supporting candidates and issues that reflect our goals and objectives.
(b) To take actions appropriate to the attainment of the purposes stated above, including recruiting business oriented candidates for local elected offices, solicitation of funds from individuals or corporations to make contributions and independent expenditures in support of and in opposition to candidates for elected office and to support political education efforts and participate in ballot issues.
OakPAC activities may include, but are not limited to candidate, ballot measure and initiative donations, voter registrations, “get out the vote” drives, and independent expenditures at the local, county, regional and state levels; and conducting polls, surveys, or other activities as deemed appropriate and productive. In carrying out its purpose, OakPAC shall operate in accordance with California law and the regulations promulgated by the Fair Political Practices Commission.
