Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors
-
What is an OMCC Ambassador?
A motivated, enthusiastic and articulate business person(s) who serves as the moral fiber of the Chamber. A special group of business person(s) who are volunteering their time to make the rest of the membership feel comfortable at the Chamber’s networking events. Ambassadors assist in ribbon cuttings, help retain and encourage membership, assist staff at official functions and so much more. Not only are they our “best foot forward” to the business community, they have the opportunity to be the first to meet, greet, and mentor the Chamber’s current and new members on how to get the most out of their membership.
-
What does an Ambassador do?
Their efforts include attending regularly scheduled Chamber programs, obtaining possible new member leads, making efforts to retain present members, and welcome new members in to the Chamber. They share with the business community the success stories of the Chamber and effectively address the question “What is the Chamber doing for me?” By maintaining such two-way communications with the entire membership (not just those active in Chamber functions) the result will be a higher membership retention rate and an improved ability to address the needs of the business community. In short, Ambassadors are the finest public relations assets of the Chamber.
