Policy & Issue Events

The Chamber convenes our members and the greater community to bring together multiple voices and experiences with collective goal of making Oakland and the East Bay a great place for businesses, visitors, and residents alike. In light of COVID-19, the Chamber is finding new ways to continue providing events and briefings that keep Oakland informed and connected. Stay up to date on the opportunities for these meaningful convenings via the weekly “Chamber Events” e-blast, our Events Calendar, and peruse our archive of past programs.

Inside Oakland

Inside Oakland is a forum for Chamber members and their guests featuring public and private decision makers who affect Oakland. P Join us each month as Inside Oakland explores the key public policy issues facing Oakland through frank, intimate conversations with regional leaders, electeds, and experts with a special focus on impacts to small businesses, nonprofits, and economic resiliency. Previous speakers have included city council members, county supervisors, and other elected officials. Inside Oakland is held at 8:30am every fourth Friday of the month, unless otherwise notified of a special meeting. For sponsorship inquiries contact officemanager@oaklandchamber.com.

Economic Resiliency Roundtable

This fall the Chamber is relaunching our popular Economic Development Forums as monthly Economic Resiliency Roundtables as part of our ongoing work to build a robust economy that enables local businesses to weather the current COVID 19 business conditions, while rebuilding the foundation needed for future economic growth. These sessions will explore how we create the conditions necessary for Oakland to emerge a more robust and equitable place to live and do business. Topics range from land use to business taxes to transportation. Roundtables take place at 3pm on the second Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise notified of a special meeting.
