Despite a brisk June night that called for sweaters and light jackets, the warmth inside Children’s Fairyland was unmistakable as more than 250 business leaders, community advocates, elected officials, and Oakland Metropolitan Chamber members came together to celebrate the people and organizations shaping Oakland’s future.

Congratulations to the 2026 cohort of Leadership Oakland!

Over the past year, this incredible group explored the people, places, and organizations that help shape Oakland’s future,  from classrooms and nonprofits to major employers, public agencies, media, infrastructure, and community institutions.

The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce proudly marks a decade of data-driven advocacy with the release of the 10th annual Economic Indicators Report, Impact & Innovation: Strengthening Oakland’s Economic Landscape, prepared by CVL Economics.

The Chamber’s 2024 citywide voter poll results are in. View the responses from Oaklanders regarding how they feel on a myriad of issues and policies facing our city.

Oakland is facing a public safety crisis – our community must come together to improve 911 emergency response times, reduce crime, and combat gun violence. We cannot afford to wait.

The issues contributing to homelessness are as complex as the solutions needed to address this growing crisis – and we know this is the number one issue for Oaklanders.

What we also know is no one person, organization, or elected body can solve this independent of others. This crisis impacts our entire community and we need to come together, find what is working and what isn’t and focus our collective efforts.
